Meeting with the Stars (people with dementia)

A warm welcome to clowns!

• How is it to be met as a queen or a king?
• How to be a guest in a 5-star hotel?
• How to be treated as a star?

The clown takes a chance and a risk. If you work with people with dementia it is necessary to work together to create a ‘custom-made art’ moment, an impact. Together with your clown partner but also with the “butler” (health care personnel in the institution). They are the key to meeting the stars in the best way. This workshop is a lot about this concept (5-star meeting with the stars) and is filled with tools to make this possible.

My favorite way is music and interactive singing. How to create a safe base in which you and your partner feel safe and build harmony and contrast. We shall certainly work on the physical clown because this is the clearest and most readable way to reach the target group.

We are going to celebrate failure. A clown who works with people with dementia is an ‘ambassador of failure’. With failure, I mean not the “produced failure” but the things that happen when we really want to do it perfectly.

I will adjust this training to the needs of the specific group.
